Shri Balyogi Umeshnath or Umesh Nath Maharaj is an Indian Politician and head of the Ujjain-based Valmiki Mutt. He has been a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha since 2024. He represents the Madhya Pradesh constituency in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India’s Parliament, as the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. His Rajya Sabh’s tenure will end on 02 April 2030.

He was born to the Valmiki family of Harilal Ji Mehna and Kamla Devi in Jaora, Dist. Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, on 19th, November 1964. Umesh Nath Maharaj is known as a ‘Balyogi’ or a person who took Sanyas in childhood and belongs to the Valmiki community, which is designated as a Scheduled Caste. He has been associated with RSS and BJP for a long time. In the Rajya Sabha, Umesh Nath Maharaj was appointed as a Member of the Committee on Water Resources in September 2024.
