Abu Taher Khan, an Indian politician and member of the parliament of India was born in 1960 in Nowda village of Murshidabad district of West Bengal. He first contested from Naoda state assembly election and won the election as the candidate of the Indian National Congress party. Md Abu Taher Khan represented the Naoda assembly seat for almost 20 years. He left the Indian National Congress party in 2019 and also resigned from the state assembly membership and joined Trinamool Congress Party. Md Abu Taher Khan was nominated as the candidate from Murshidabad constituency in the General election 2019. He won the election and joined the parliament.
Shri Abu Taher Khan was born to a Bengali Muslim family of Barkatullah Khan. His mother was a homemaker and his father was an agriculturist by profession. He did not get enough chances for education and left his education after 8th class. While he was helping his father in his farming he gathered the support of the local public of his village.
