Fauzia Khan, politician and current member of the Upper House of the Parliament was born in 1957 in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra State. She belongs to a farming family and educationist by profession. She finished her schooling convent school in  Aurangabad and completed higher education from Aurangabad. Dr. Fauzia Khan completed her MA. M. Phil & PhD degrees before she married Tahseen Ahmad Khan.

She moved to Parbhani city after marriage. Her political career started after she contested as the candidate of Parbhani Municipal Council. She later became a member of the Nationalist Congress Party- NCP. Dr. Fauzia Khan also headed the Federation of All Maharashtra Minority Education Council- FAME. She has done lots of work to elevate education, especially for Urdu in the state. She donated land to found the Urdu University in Aurangabad.
