Partha Bhowmick, Actor-turned-Politician, and current member of Lok Sabha of the parliament of India. He was contested in his first parliamentary election in 2024 from Barrackpur Lok Sabha Constituency. Partha won the election defeating his counterparts of the BJP, INC & CPI(M) party. He is a renowned theatre artist in the Bangla theatre industry. Partha Bhowmick joined the politics with AITMC chief Mamata Banerjee and first contested in state assembly elections. He also served in a Ministerial post under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Bhowmick was born in 1964, in Naihati Pargana in the family of Rabindra Nath and Juthika Bhowmick. He finished his schooling in his native place and earned a Masters degree. Partha Bhowmich moved to Kolkata and joined the acting industry. He worked as a theatre artist before he joined politics.
