Sasikanth Senthil, Former civil servant and current member of parliament was born in 1979 in Chennai. His father P. Shanmugam was a district Judge and his mother was a central government employee. He finished his schooling in Chennai and joined Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli to complete a B.E. degree in computer science. He worked with a renowned corporate company in Chennai as a software engineer. But he left the corporate job and joined the Indian civil service by scoring 9th rank in the UPSC exam.
Shri Sasikanth moved to Karnataka state to join his IAS service. He achieved many remarkable social welfare and administrative work in his short IAS career. He belongs to a Dalit family and established a library in his native village for the poor and underprivileged children. Sasikanth was against the policies of the central BJP government. He resigned As IAS and started working for the poor people of Tamil Nadu. Then he joined the Indian National Congress Party and won the general election in 2024.
