Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Politician and sitting Member of Parliament (Lower House) was born in Gurdaspur district in Punjab state in 1959. His father Santokh Singh was the senior congress leader and served as the president of the Punjab State Congress party twice. He completed his early schooling at the government school of his native village Dhrowali. Sukhjinder Singh completed his metric and higher education in Chandigarh.

He started politics as his career with the membership of the Congress party with his father. Sukhjinder first time contested in the State assembly election in 2002. His political life was always centric on state politics and once he resigned from the Indian National Congress party with 42 fellow MLAs in protesting the river water distribution issue in Punjab state, but his resignation was not accepted. He served as the Member of Legislative Assembly from Fatehgarh Churian constituency in 2002 and from Dera Baba Nanak Assembly in 2012, 2017, and 2022.
