Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri a current Member of the parliament from Uttara Kannada constituency of Karnataka. He is the senior BJP leader of the Karnataka state and served as the speaker of the Karnataka state assembly under the government of the chief minister of the state from 2019 to 2023. Vishveshwar was represented as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Karnataka from the different constituencies in his political career.

He was born in the family of Anant Hegde and Sarveshwari Hegde in 1961 in the small Sirsi Kageri town of Karnataka State. Vishveshwar Kageri finished his schooling in his hometown and completed his graduation from Karnataka College Dharwad. Later, he joined the Bhartiya Janta Party at an early age and started politics with Farming. He served as a member of Vidhan Sabha from Ankola and Sirsi Constituency multiple times.

He won the election defeating Anjali Nimbalkar if the Congress Party by the huge margin of 3.50 Lakh votes.
